Joomla! name announced

After intense debate the name Joomla! was announced at 18:00 GMT to the world and http://joomla.org was launched.

developer.joomla.org

With the launch of version 1.0 of Joomla! comes the unveiling of our new development forge site at developer.joomla.org, hosted on SourceForge Enterprise courtesy of VA Systems.

Joomla 1.0 Released

OSM takes their final stable version of Mambo (4.5.2.3), gave it a spring clean and named it Joomla! 1.0. (Yes wikipedia has the date wrong)

After a public competition for a new logo the winning design by Alan Urquhart was announced.
